Welcome Aboard Jesse!

As the need for transportation policy reform grows, so does our team at Farm&City. Join us in welcoming our new staffer, Jesse Woche, who will serve as Farm&City’s Policy Associate. Her primary functions will be working closely with Vision Zero and Central Texas Families for Safe Streets to achieve the objective of preventing traffic deaths and keeping people safe across our state. This work will be accomplished through legislative advocacy, collaboration with partner organizations, community organizing, and more.

Jesse was born and raised in a suburb of Northwest Austin, serving as a witness to the enormous population growth and urban sprawl the city has undergone in the past two decades. She grew up hiking the trails in Texas with her dad and fell in love with the natural spaces of our state. She then went on to pursue a degree in Political Science and Global Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. To better understand how certain policies affect various populations, she studied comparative politics in France, Italy, and Australia. Her coursework included conducting research on redlining, partisanship, and globalization. She undertook various research, constituent relations, and policy work with CA State Senator Ben Allen, The Conservation Fund, the Sierra Club, UCLA’s Sociology Department, and Project Super Bloom PAC. In addition, she has several years of volunteer experience with various campaigns and childhood development groups, including the Boys & Girls Club. In her free time, she attends comedy shows or reads the latest Reese’s Book Club selection. She hopes to work her way up through the world of transportation policy and towards a safe, equitable, and sustainable Texas.

With our organization quickly growing, we’re so excited to see what the rest of 2022 has in store for us. Together, we can build a Texas with high-quality and sustainable transportation options for all.
