Come Meet the Team

Tuesday, March 29, 2022

Easy Tiger (east) 1501 E 7th St, Austin TX

5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Farm&City just added two new members to our team and our Deputy Director Scott is in Austin. So this is the first time that all of us, Jay, Scott, Daniel, and Jesse will be in the same place, and we would like to invite everyone in the Austin area to come meet our team!

Join us at Easy Tiger on East 7th for an evening with friends, families and great conversation. We’re looking forward to meeting you and sharing a little bit about ourselves, and all the fun stuff we have planned at Farm&City. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Meet our two new team members:

Jesse Woche will be working closely with our Vision Zero Texas project and Central Texas Families for Safe Streets.

Jesse was born and raised in a suburb of Northwest Austin, hiking the trails in Texas with her dad and fell in love with the natural spaces of our state. She pursued a degree in Political Science and Global Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles where she studied comparative politics in France, Italy, and Australia. She also undertook various research, constituent relations, and policy work with CA State Senator Ben Allen, The Conservation Fund, the Sierra Club, UCLA’s Sociology Department, and Project Super Bloom PAC. In her free time, she attends comedy shows or reads the latest Reese’s Book Club selection.

Daniel Kavelman will be working on the Austin Parking Reform Coalition and other projects related to our 50 Million Texans project.

Daniel joined Farm&City as an organizer in March 2022. He is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico and recently graduated from the University of Oklahoma in May of 2021. Daniel is passionate about urban policy issues and advocating for more sustainable and affordable cities. He has worked in local government before, in the City of Albuquerque’s Environmental Health department, looking at air quality regulations and implementation. When not thinking about walkable neighborhoods or transit, Daniel likes to read books, make music, and spend time exploring the newest places in Austin.

You can even show some extra support for Farm&City with a donation to help us continue to grow!
